Which Android Phone You Should Buy
When it comes to Android, you have lots of choices. This can be a bad thing and good thing at the same time. Personally I feel it’s a good thing because I always find it fascinating what handset manufactures are doing to the mobile operating system by Google. The result is that consumers get to chose the best combination of hardware and software.
So back to the topic of which Android phone you should buy. You will find people supporting one company over other. There are Samsung fans, and then there are HTC supporters. At the same time, Sony and LG are also coming up with great phones. So at the end of the day it’s a tough decision to make.
In my opinion, there are two factors based on which you can decide on which phone to buy. Screen size, and budget.
Screen Size
Android phones come in a variety of screen sizes, from 3.5 inches to 6.5 inches. So first things first you have to decide how big or small a phone will suite you best. Some people can’t handle big phones, while others love the big screen of a smart phone to watch videos and browse the web. So you have to figure out what would be your most common uses of the phone (other than making phone calls, which these days becoming rarer) and what is your sweet spot for screen size.
Other things that you might want to decide on is whether or not you want a phone with extendable memory and how important is 4G capability to you. But in my opinion these are minor things in the grand scheme of things as most phones come with extendable memory and 4G LTE is pretty much a standard now.
Price
Once you know the right size of the phone you want, next step is to look at your affordability. At the end of the day, all Android phones are alike, just like all Windows based laptops are alike. There are some customizations by the manufacturers but those are mostly related to look and feel (aka user interface) and not the operating system itself. So don’t worry too much about Samsung and HTC and look at your pocket. I believe that any latest model phone by LG is as good as Samsung, but of course LG is usually priced lower than Samsung. For example, Samsung Galaxy S4 is costing around AED 1849 these days ($498.44 as per the currency converter here here) and HTC ONE will cost you AED 1949 ($525.39). On the other hand, Huawei Ascend P6 will cost you only AED 1299 ($350). So if can’t afford Samsung or HTC then go for LG or Sony or Lenovo or Acer… there are countless manufacturers out there to suite any budget.
So there are you have it. If you focus on size and price, it will become a lot easier for you to decide on a smart phone.
Good luck with your phone hunting and do let me know which one did you buy in the comments section.
