It came, it saw, it conquered. iPhone lived up to its hype and proved to be the most revolutionary gadget ever. Everyone is talking about it, negatively or positively, and I have been watching. But now I will talk and you will listen.
So here is my iPhone post.
As I said, iPhone is truly a revolutionary device. It is so different from previous mobile devices, so innovative, that it sets a new standard for them. From now on, every cell phone manufacturer will have iPhone in mind before designing a new model. They will try to outdo iPhone’s design, its touchscreen, its features, and coolness factor. The world will be in search of iPhone killer, just like it’s been in search of iPod killer.
Weather or not a better mobile phone will be discovered invented as a result of this war, or iPhone will rule them all, is something only time will tell. But rest assured, a new era in mobile communication is started with launch of iPhone.
With all this progress in mobile communications industry, one thing is evidently clear. As these portable devices become more and more powerful, as they allow us to communicate more effectively (skype integration), organize, get information (data communication using both GPRS and wi-fi networks), they will replace traditional computing eventually. There will be a time when most of our data will be off the box, and on the network. And all that data will be accessible from any device on the network, be it a laptop computer or a mobile phone device. Not too far from now, laptop computers and mobile phones will merge.
The iPhone is first step towards that.

My only gripe with the iPhone is the lack of installable software application support.
iPhone is not a first step towards anything. Windows Mobile devices have been doing everything the iPhone does and more for years now. iPhone just looks better and costs more.
