Road trips

These guys claim to have covered a distance of 2800 miles in 37 hours. But they did not follow any speed limits and used sports cars with modded engines and all.

Road trips, if planned carefully, can be extremely fun. The most memorable road trip that I went on was in the last week of August 2002. I, with my friend Amin, drove from Buffalo, New York to Dallas, Texas. We covered a distance of around 1300 miles in 24 hours, only stopping for fuel and food. We did it in a 1988 Corolla, with no AC and music system in the car. Still, I enjoyed the trip a lot as it was my first time on a road trip that long and all alone (means without family).

The best way to enjoy a road trip is exploring while traveling. Plan the trip well in advance. Mark the important places on your path, like national parks, theme parks, historical buildings, or other tourist resorts. Then visit as many places as you can on your trip. That will make the trip more exciting, rewarding and memorable. Not to mention you have to make sure your vehicle is in good shape because it’s not fun getting stuck in the middle of nowhere because of a broken car.
