The results of the last poll look like below
[poll=4]
92% of voters have access to a broad band connection either at work or home.
I think that’s a pretty good sign that people are adapting broadband and dialup is not a preffered method anymore.
Indeed, dialup internet is not worth it anymore. With increasing number of rich media websites, dialup speed just doesn’t cope up with the bandwidth requirements of modern day internet.
But unfortunately, broadband is still not easily within reach of home users. The blame goes to infrastructure. I was denied DSL connection by two ISPs because the phonelines in my area do not work very werll with DSL. I have no other option but to use dialup from home. I am sure there must be many others like me.
So the bottom line, broadband access is on the rise and that’s a good thing.
