After spotting an empty parking space in the huge parking lot of a well known grocery store (hint: walmart), I ventured towards it and parked like a tiger, with my traditional tail-first style. This move of mine, apparently, pissed off a nice lady who had also spotted the same space and was hoping to be able to park her proud shiny american car there. What she didn’t realize was that I had seen that spot first and she had entered that isle and the spot was closer to the start of the isle, so she assumed the right to that empty parking space, completely ignoring the fact that I was coming from the opposite direction aiming for the same space, much closer to it, hence being able to park there first. Anyway, the respected white lady decided to wait for me to come out of my humble old trusty japanese car, and after I did and passed by her big car (the make and model of which I fail to remember), she asked me if I always parked that way (the tiger style tail in first), to which I simply said yes, and moved on into the giant grocery store. I heard her saying something else too but failed to comprehend.

While I was waiting in the check-out line, the nice little lady confronted me again (seems like she was waiting for me to check-out) and said I should learn to respect other people, and that “this is not India”, to which I respectfully said I was a US citizen.

So, ladies and gentlemen, my message to the respect lady is, “I saw that space first, and since I was able to get there and park before you, you have no reason to be pissed off at it. And what kind of respect are you showing towards indians (which I am not) by saying that this is not india! And by the way, I do always park that way, cuz its easier to get out”.
