While Firefox does use more memory than IE for 1/2 tabs, but it quickly levels off when you have say a dozen tabs. And I won't use IE even if it uses 10x less memory. Its insecure. Completely. Its trivial to remotely infect a PC running IE. By the way, they are working on some pretty cool memory management stuff for Firefox 3, some of which I find quite interesting as a developer. And I won’t use IE even if it uses 10x less memory. Its insecure. Completely. Its trivial to remotely infect a PC running IE.

By the way, they are working on some pretty cool memory management stuff for Firefox 3, some of which I find quite interesting as a developer.

But yes, it is a memory hog and although I'm a big fan of it even I switch to IE whenever I'm running low on memory.
