Every time I add a new feature in my blog, I find it hard to make it work properly with Internet Explorer. On the other hand, it works perfectly fine with Mozilla Firefox. So if you think my blog is all scrambled and messy, it might be because you are using Internet Explorer.
But that’s not the only reason you should switch to firefox. It is widely accepted that Internet Explorer is not the best browser out there. Sure, it is included for free with Windows and everyone seems to be using it, but that doesn’t make it the best. The most annoying thing about Internet Explorer is that it does not follow standards of how the code underlying the web pages should be rendered. As a result, the web sites don’t appear the way the developers want them to appear. And that’s a major pain in the ass. Moreover, firefox has a number of extensions available that can make your browsing experience much better. The real power of firefox is in its extensions. And I am not the only one recommending you to switch. According to statistics Internet Explorer is loosing the market share. More people are switching to firefox every day. There was a time when Internet Explorer had over 90% market share but now it is 76%, while firefox has captured 17% of the market share and its growing. Now that you know the trend, do you still think you are better off with Internet Explorer.
Do yourself a favor and switch to Firefox. You will not regret it. Plus reading my blog will be a better experience. How wonderful the world will be when all my readers will use firefox and I will not have to worry about how my blog looks on Internet Explorer.

I switched to Mozilla Firefox then switched back…I guess I am an average user and I want to get the job done when I get online.
Mozilla takes up more memory…
Firefox is 10x a better browser simply because it’s more secure, extensible and what not. But yes, it is a memory hog and although I’m a big fan of it even I switch to IE whenever I’m running low on memory.
My internet usage often involves research, and I have to multi-task. While Firefox does use more memory than IE for 1/2 tabs, but it quickly levels off when you have say a dozen tabs.
And I won’t use IE even if it uses 10x less memory. Its insecure. Completely. Its trivial to remotely infect a PC running IE.
By the way, they are working on some pretty cool memory management stuff for Firefox 3, some of which I find quite interesting as a developer.
I have been using firefox for years and I never had memory issues. It takes a few extra seconds to load but after that its a smooth ride.
but it keeps eating memory if you keep it on for long hours. Atleast I did feel something like that.
fire fox works with open source web technologies, while IE is great with microsoft.
