Miss the games

One of the things that I am not into any more (because of several reasons) is PC games.

There was a time when computer games used to take a major portion of my day, or night. I used to spend hours and hours playing games.

The first decent game that I remember playing was Police Quest. Some of the best games that I can remember playing are Monkey Island (all parts), Day of the Tenticles, Dune, Command and Conquer, Unreal Tournament, Cricket (so many versions of it), FIFA, Counter Strike, there are so many others I can’t remember right now. I remember making a small LAN with my cousins to play games over network. I wasn’t very good at multiplayer gaming, but I enjoyed it everytime.

So how did I stop playing games if I was so addicted to it? Well, I guess I ran out of time for gaming as I grew up. Internet started taking much of my time. I got into movies and music. But I think the most important factor that totally took me out of gaming scene was lack of a computer that could play games. As long as I had a desktop computer with decent configuration, I was playing. As my life became more mobile, I got a laptop and that was the end of gaming for me as the laptop could not play games.

I still miss those days at times. Who knows, I might get a separate desktop for gaming someday, when I’ll be rich enough.
