Good reading through your life in dubai summary.

One point that echoed all throughtout your essay was the job. Perhaps you are right from a career point of view. May be you are a bugginf engineer or a sales and marketing guy and thinking from your perspective.

I have been to Karachi when I was too young to remember the standard of life there, but i am sure it resembles Mumbai in a lot of ways. Both cities offer oppurtunities and yet to maintain a home, a car - some luxuries, that you dreamed about, we need dirhams and not rupees to achieve that.

here comes the Dubai dream. The lure of the dirhams. Gone are the days when working in Gulf ensured you would built castles back home. Now it is on the face value. Yes the coversion rates still makes a difference, but honestly working in Dubai for now over two years, a lot of thought needs to go in when you decide to migrate.

A parting point, Dubai is land of oppertunities but also remember have an objective when you come here and keep your sighting on the savings and when of your return, rather than expecting this place to give you all the comforts you would have at home.

Haroon, for an average pakistani, dubai is more attractive because it is closer to pakistan, it's a muslim country, and many other reasons. But you are right, USA rocks!!
