lack of power outlets at airport terminals

One thing that I noticed during my stay at the airport terminals was that the power outlets were either not present or they were not compatible with the power adpaters of the devices from a different region.

I was carrying a bunch of DVD movies with me to make the long journey easier. During my first flight I completely used the battery of my laptop computer hoping that I would be able to charge during the next transit, only to find out there was no power outlet anywhere an the terminal of the Frankfurt airport. I was very disappointed.

My next flight was extremely boring since in-flight entertainment really sucked and I was out of battery power for my laptop. Those were the longest six hours of my life. I managed to sleep a little but if you have traveled long hours you can imagine how hard it is to sleep sitting straight. Anyway, I was optimistic that I would be able to charge my battery at Bahrain airport.

My optimism converted into frustration when I discovered that power outlets at the terminal were of different shape than that of my laptop adapter. I litteraly looked at every single outlet hoping that one of them might accept my adapter, but in vain.

I don’t know if any one else noticed that problem, and whether or not other airports have the same flaw, but I think it is a very serious issue. Frequent flyers who carry a lot of electronic devices with them need to recharge their batteries. A power outlet that could accept all kinds of connections would be of major advantage to such travelers. Not only it would be convinient, it might result in added revenue as passengers would prefer to transit at such airports.
