So, I am in Kuwait for another business trip.
I had my share of adventure yesterday on my way to Kuwait. Just when the airplane was about to land, I spotted a sandstorm coming towards the Kuwait City. It looked pretty amazing through the window, it was like a huge brown blanket covering the city. To make things worse the plane took a turn and headed right into the sand storm. That’s when I began to wonder how the hell he is going to land in the middle of a sand storm. Sure enough, the plane stopped the descent and suddenly started gaining altitude. It was going up. Soon the captain spoke and informed the passengers that we couldn’t land because of the sand storm and we had to wait until it clears up.
So we started circling the city waiting for the sand storm to pass. But after 10 short minutes or so the plane started descending again, right into the sand storm, in the middle of the desert. I thought it was out of fuel and was about to make emergency landing in the desert, ‘cuz you couldn’t see anything down below, it really looked like you are landing in the desert. But then miraculously just when the plane was about to hit the ground the runway appeared from nowhere and we did a happy landing, on the runway! Hats off to the pilot for attempting to land like that, and then making it happen.
Maybe it doesn’t seem so bizarre reading it but actually experiencing it was quite an adventure.

That’s called a white knuckle landing Umar!
Seabee » i guess it only made the passengers nervous. The pilot seemed very comfortable doing it.
You should thank God and ILS!
