Saw these two posts in the blogosphere about arrival of Hybrid taxis in Dubai, though for testing only.
While this is all good to show the world that Dubai cares about environment and all, but the basic purpose of taxis should not be overlooked and that is to provide convenience to the general public.
Currently it takes unpredictable amount of time to find a taxi in Dubai. A hybrid taxi, as good as it might be for environment, will do no good if it doesn’t ease the troubles of the passengers.
Can’t you just call them up and ask for a taxi at your place?
you can, but that doesn’t confirm that a taxi will come. More often then not it never comes.
