Diera City Centre Is My Second Home…

MallImage by robertpaulyoung via Flickr…or third home if you count my office as my second home.

I find myself wandering around in City Centre several times a week. That’s because the mall is nearby, only 15 minutes ride on taxi (the time to find a taxi is extra), offers plenty of options for shopping and eating, has a cinema that shows latest flicks, got a huge grocery store to buy stuff for home, and gives a chance to appreciate all those pretty girls visiting the mall. This is no doubt one of the best malls of Dubai.

Last weekend I went there twice. It is slowly becoming the default option for us to go out, at least until we have our own car and we don’t have to worry about taxi fares anymore. After that I am sure we will frequent Mall of the Emirates more than anything else.

So far I am not bored of the City Centre yet. There are plenty of shops, like hundreds. And it would take us months to explore all of them. We have figured out which ones are good, which ones are always under sale, and which ones to avoid. Just yesterday we did some shopping from an outlet selling clothes at discounted rates and it cost us lesser than the food we ate and the fare we paid for the taxi.

And I never forget to enjoy the creamy, delicious thick and creamy chocolate shake from Baskin Robbins.

Or a frappuccino from Starbucks.

Or nachos from New York Fries.

Another advantage of wandering around the mall, even if you have nothing to buy, is that you find out what’s latest in the world of fashion

and electronics.

So while we have better options of moving around in Dubai (aka own vehicle), Diera City Centre is our getaway.
