I am the kind of person for whom dates and days are very important.
I landed in the USA on January 11, 2001. I left USA on December 31, 2004. I lived there 11 days short of 4 years.
I started my current job on February 7, 2005. Been working there for exactly 1 year, 2 months, and 6 days. That’s the longest I have worked at one place.
I got engaged on January 7, 2006. It’s been 3 months and 6 days now.
Yes, I do count my life by days. That’s the way I am.
Oh, I started this blog on January 1, 2004.
May 7, 2005. April 17, 2003. December 28, 2005. August 30, 2002. January 5, 2005. May 13, 2002. All of these dates mean something to me and they bring back bitter and sweet memories whenever I think about it.
I have tendancy of counting how many days are left to a certain event. Too many times it has disappointed me because that event never took place. But that never stopped me from counting days. I just can’t help it. I think about something and start calculating how many days are left. I don’t even have a calendar to circle the dates. It’s all in my mind.
How many days till I die? If only I could count that.

This post reminds me of the movie Dil Chahta Hai.
