Day 2 of the driving lesson

As much as I try to reach the driving school on time, something always goes wrong and I am late.

This has happened for two days in a row. Today I reserved the taxi in advance but the stupid taxi driver ditched me. It then took me another 45 minutes to find a taxi from the streets, and I got 30 minutes late.

Lucky me, the instructor was kind enough to let me take today’s class for the remaining time (i.e. drive the car around the compound for 30 minutes instead of 1 hour).

The new thing I learned today was that you are supposed to set the transmission first and then release the parking brake. Doing it in reverse order might fail you on your road test. I was also reminded the proper way of holding the steering wheel.

You see, when you have been driving in the wilds for so many years, you develop certain bad habits along the way which you don’t even realize. So small things like these do matter specially when it might cost you your road test.
