cricket: a chance to avail

With Lara not playing the one-day series, I think Pakistan cricket team has a very good chance of doing well against West Indies. But then again, it’s Pakistan. They have a proven record of playing bad even when everything is working in their favor. So, I am not expecting much from them and I won’t be surprised at all if they lost all the matches. However, here are some of my predictions about the series.

Shahid Afridi, the great, might play decent in one match. And by decent I mean he would score a few dozen runs from half the balls, and then get out. He might take a few wickets as well, but that’s about it. At a time when the team would count on him staying at the wicket, he would give it away like anything.

If they win a game, it would be mainly because of good bowling. They will either contain the opposite team to a low score, and then chase it with minimum trouble. Or, they might be able to score above 250 by batting first and then not give any chances to the chasers.

In any case, it’s just a game, and getting emotional about it is just stupid. I doubt I will be watching any of the games live, as I have better things to do with my time. If I felt like it, I might write about the performance of the team during the games.

I do wish my team all the best.
