One thing that’s most frustrating about corporate sector in Pakistan is that things happen really slow over here.
Something that ideally should take a couple of months takes good six months in Pakistan. The more I get experienced in sales and marketing the more I realize this fact.
The company I work for primarily deals with banks. Now banks are supposed to be very organized and efficient. Not true in Pakistan. It’s a painful process to go through sales-cycle with them. You really have to hold them by finger and walk them through everything, and even then they seem clueless in the end. This is really frustrating for the sales team, but there is nothing much that can be done other than sticking with them, because when the deal is sealed it’s worth millions.
If only things were a little faster.

I’m sorry I’m not leaving a comment related to your post but I saw your blog for the first time today and it made me smile…
My husband’s name is Umar too and I guess that’s why I was curious to read yours.. in a million years I couldn’t imagine him writing a blog (unless it was 100% about computer and IT).. so anyway, I think it’s enchanting that you have this blog where you talk about your life too. This is the first time I’ve come across such a blog by a MAN.. only women seem to wanna say anything about their personal lives. Way to go!
P.S. Congratulations on your wedding.. believe me.. this is the most beautiful time of your life!
Oh and I just saw that you’re an IT consultant.. amazing mashaAllah! I think you work in Karachi. If it isn’t too much, do you mind telling me how the job market is down there?
We currently live in Virginia, US and my husband works for a company in DC. He’s their sole Network Administrator and apart from the DC office, he remotely handles the other worldwide offices. I keep telling him we should move to Pakistan but he thinks the job market there is bad and his line of work won’t pay much. What do you think? You can email me, if you like. Thanks. God bless.
thanks for the comment maryan. Will send you an email soon.
