Ever since I switched jobs back in October, my commute to work has become significanty short. It now takes only 5 minutes to get to work.
As a side effect, my blogging frequency has also decresed, specially on Metroblogging Karachi. The reason is obvious. I don’t get a chance to see the city as much. I can’t find out what’s happening on the streets. I don’t witness anything interesting enough to blog about. I believe the more time you spend on the streets, the more you learn about the city. These days I have to make an effort to make a post on Karachi Metroblog. Previously I was comfortably able to make a new post every day because I worked 40 minutes away from home.
So the point of this post is that if you want to know your city, work away from your home.
