Ok, the philosophy marathon was actually some of the comments that were posted on my blog by some stupid comment spamming bot. I never thought my blog would be so popular to be noticed by spammers. But now that it has been attacked, I had to do something to protect it.
So here is what I did. I disabled the comments on my blog. That didn’t work. The bot was smarter than that. It directly accessed my comment posting script to post spam comments. So I just disabled the script. Bingo. No more comment spam. But the price I paid was that now I cant even have real comments. So if you want to tell me how great my blog is just use the email link on the menu and send me an email. It will be highly appreciated.
In the mean time, I am working on a way to prevent spam comments before enabling comments.
