One place to must visit in Dubai is one of the water parks here. And if you live in Dubai then you must visit a water park at least once a year.
I know its wishful thinking because I don’t follow this advise myself and I have been living in Dubai for more than thee years now.
But then I took the plunge.
I recently got a chance to visit Aquaventure, the waterpark inside the Atlantis hotel. I had been to Wild Wadi before (that makes two visits to a waterpark in an year) and I had heard that aquaventure was much better so my expectations were quite high.
So did aquaventure live up to its hype and meet my expectations? Read on to find out.
The first thing that you notice upon entering the park is its beautiful architecture, intuitive layout, and glamorous views of the Atlantis hotel.
Like every waterpark, aquaventure has rides and activities to cater to all age groups. There are artificial beaches and fountains for toddlers and young kids, river rides for entry level thrill, and extreme rides to pump up your adrenaline to the max.
There is a giant aquarium and one of the slides tunnels through the aquarium so you can see the sharks and manta rays and other fish swimming around you, which is quite an experience.
For the food lovers, or if you are just feeling hungry (trust me, after all the rides and running around, you will feel hungry), there are plenty of options including sandwiches, juices, shakes, ice-cream, and what not.
But the best ride of all, the one which will take your breath away, is a ride called leap of faith. And there couldn’t be a better name for it. It truly is a leap of faith. It’s as close to free fall as it can get without actually doing the free fall, and then you land into water.
The next best ride was called the plunge. I can’t say much about it other than it was good but not as good as leap of faith.
But these two rides are worth the ticket to aquaventure, specially if you are adventure lover.
The best strategy is to go there early, relax by the beach, take the river rides with your kids, have a snack and the head to the plunge, then leap of faith and then the take leap of faith again.
So the conclusion, is that, aquaventure rocks. It’s hard to say if it is better than wild wadi in terms of quality of rides only, but I think if you compare the overall design of the park, the aesthetics and the location, I think aquaventure is overall a better experience.

How do you snack when you’ve got all your belongings stored in a locker? And you really can’t carry much around with you …
Leap of faith is crazy. Even more so was that we tried it first so everything else seemed boring.

And ِI reached Sixt site by clicking car rent Dubai link at the end of the post above. I wanted to check Camry but they seem to be offering just one brand…Merc. Is it really so or I am missing some thing there?
what is the best place to visit if someone is hopeless and everything looks dull and ordinary. Do you think that these places like Musandam/Aquaventure/Burj Khalifa – the top of the world could add some colors, animation or some joy to their life?
I have been meaning to go to Aquaventure for a while now. But might have a wait a bit until my son is a bit older – did you daughter enjoy it?
Yes she did enjoy the beach and kids play area.
Wow am feeling as i am in Dubai. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful post.
