10 years

I have been a forward looking person all my life. I always think about future and avoid wasting time living in past other than learning from my experiences and applying the lessons to make the future better.

But today I find myself stopping for a minute and recollecting the last 10 years of my life. Maybe because I noticed that we are in year 2011 which marks the start of a new decade, and that took me back in time to start of the last decade, which was also the start of a new century.

I know it took me 5 months of the year 2011 to reach that realization, which tells how deeply involved I have become in passing days that I barely notice changing months and years.

So the year 2001 started a new phase of my life. That’s when I left the comfort of my home and the company of my parents and family to pursue my dream of studying in America. Little did I know at that time that 10 years later in the year 2011 I would be sitting in my comfortable home in Dubai and thinking about that life changing moment. And now, at this instance, I am trying to imagine how things would be after 10 years from now, in the year 2021, and I have no idea. Just like I had never thought 10 years ago that I would end up working and living in Dubai, I can’t think where would I be and what would I be doing after 10 years. You don’t think about these things. You just deal with stuff as it comes your way and fate takes you wherever you are destined to go. So 10 years from now if this blog is still alive and if I am still in my senses I might write here again thinking about the past 10 years.

But for now all I can say is that I have no complains in life and I am most grateful to The Creator for giving me everything that I have. Of course there is this thirst and quest for more but that doesn’t mean I am not satisfied with what I have already achieved.

So here’s to another 10 years of life, 10 years of ups and downs, and hopefully 10 years of progress and prosperity.

There is only one thing I am sure of.

The best is yet to come.
